How to lose at Texas Hold'em and still win!

Sporting Index have come up with a great new take on the old game of Texas Hold'em poker - why not take out a spread on your hand's chances of winning or losing? So now there's no need to worry if you're getting rotten hands, because you can back yourself to lose (or win if you are confident) – a world first in poker! All the original thrills of the game remain, but now you can make the most of a weak hand, allowing you to play more often and adding even more fun to the game.

Place Your Bets

If you are new to poker, Texas Hold'em (the game you see on telly) is a seven card game, involving a single deck of cards and, at Sporting Index, five players. Each player then bets on the perceived performance of his or her hand in relation to four other hands. Players are awarded 100 points for every winning hand, plus bonus points for the quality of each hand. You'll be offered a revised betting price prior to each round of betting, in the same way as regular spread-betting, so you genuinely have the choice of backing yourself or your opponents. Genious!!

There are 5 betting opportunities to get to grips with:

  • Betting Blind - where a price is generated before any cards are dealt
  • Hole Cards - each player is dealt two cards, and a new price is generated
  • The Flop - where three cards are dealt on the table, and a new price is generated
  • The Turn - where a fourth card is dealt on the table, and a new price is generated
  • The River - where a final fifth card is dealt on the table, and a new price is generated
